It wasn't like she picked up some raondm guy. Nathan was friend-zoned for a LONG time. They've known each other for a while (when they started recording way back). At the time her and Jai were still strong but apparently they weren't happy toward the end. Jai broke up with her over the phone and eventually they came to the conclusion it was for the best. Her and Jai are friends now and Ariana is seeing Nathan as more than just the nice boy. He makes her happy and that's what's important.
